Manager – Kaiwhakahaere

Our organisation does incredible mahi, supporting people to connect within their neighbourhoods and communities. We are now seeking a Kaiwhakahaere (Manager) for permanent employment.

This person will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Top of the South Neighbourhood Support Charitable Trust, ensuring that operations align with the Strategic Plan, building relationships across the community sector, sourcing funding and managing finances, and leading a team of employees and volunteers who deliver services within Te Tau Ihu. The Manager reports to the Chair of the Trust Board.

 

To be successful in this role you

  • are excited about community and believe that you can influence positive change

  • have excellent communication skills, influencing skills and stakeholder relationship management

  • have proven experience in successfully leading and managing service delivery operations within a not-for-profit context or comparable organisation

  • have a strength-based leadership style and the ability to collaborate with others

  • are digitally savvy including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Business 365

  • have a commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

  • hold a New Zealand Class 1 Full Drivers Licence and can drive a manual car

 

You will need to cope well with the challenges of operating in the not-for-profit community sector. The challenge (and opportunity) will be remaining agile at the same time as delivering which will require a proactive, positive, energetic, resilient and confident approach.
